DESIGNED FOR WET AREAS

A Shower Tile Installation Starts Behind the Tile

Most shower failures do not start at the tile. They start at the grout line, the corner, or the pan underneath — where water finds a path nobody planned for. By the time a stain shows up on the ceiling below, the tile has been doing its job for months and the waterproofing has not.

That is why we treat a shower as a system: substrate, membrane, slope, drainage, then tile. The part you see is the last step, not the first.

WHAT WE INSTALL

Every Detail Planned for the Space

Walk-In Showers

Full wall and floor tile, with the layout planned before the first cut so the pattern lands right at corners and edges.

Custom Niches

Storage aligned with the tile layout, framed and sealed, sized for what you actually keep in the shower.

Shower Floors

Correct slope toward the drain, set so water leaves the floor instead of sitting on it.

Accent Details

Mosaics, borders and feature walls that give the shower a focal point without fighting the rest of the room.

WATERPROOFING MATTERS

Protection Before Decoration

Ask three contractors how they waterproof a shower and you will get three different answers. Here is ours, step by step, so you can compare it with the other estimates on your table.

01

Substrate inspection and preparation

We check what is behind the old tile before quoting. Soft drywall or a failing pan changes the job, and it is better to know on day one.

02

Waterproof membrane installation

A continuous barrier across walls and floor, not a patch at the wet spots.

03

Correct slope toward the drain

Built into the pan so gravity does the work.

04

Sealed corners, penetrations and niches

Corners, valve openings and niche edges are where leaks begin. Each one is sealed before tile goes on.

05

Tile, grout and final inspection

Layout, setting, grout, and a walkthrough with you before we call it done.

Material options

Choose Tile for Beauty and Performance

Porcelain Tile

Dense and water-resistant. The safest choice for shower floors and the most forgiving over time.

Ceramic Tile

Lighter on the budget and easy to shape around fixtures. Best on walls.

Natural Stone

Marble, travertine and slate. Beautiful, and it needs sealing on a schedule — we will tell you which one before you buy.

Mosaic Tile

More grout lines mean more grip underfoot. That is why it works so well on shower floors and niches.

What moves the price

What Affects Cost and Timeline?

We do not publish a price per square foot, because the number would be wrong for most people. Four things move it, and you can estimate where you fall before you call:

Shower Size

Wall and floor area to be covered.

Tile Format

Mosaic takes longer to set than large format. Large format needs a flatter wall.

Preparation

A sound substrate is quick. A failing pan or soft wall adds a day or two.

Custom Details

Niches, benches and patterns are where the hours go, and where the shower stops looking generic.

Frequently asked questions

Shower Tile Questions

What tile is best for a shower?

Porcelain for floors, because it absorbs almost no water. On walls you have more freedom — ceramic, porcelain, stone or mosaic all work. For the shower floor specifically, smaller tile with more grout lines gives better grip when wet.

Do you waterproof before installing tile?

Yes, on every shower. Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own — water passes through grout. The membrane behind the tile is what keeps the wall dry, so it is never optional and never an upgrade.

How long does shower tile installation take?

Most showers take three to five working days once demolition is done: preparation, waterproofing, setting, grouting and curing. A larger shower, natural stone, or a substrate that needs rebuilding adds time. We give you the schedule with the estimate.

Can you add a custom niche or bench?

Yes. Both are built during the waterproofing stage, not added afterward, which is why they need to be decided before we start. Tell us what you keep in the shower and we will size the niche for it.

How much does shower tile installation cost?

It depends on size, tile format, the condition of what is behind the old tile, and custom details like niches and benches. We measure the space and give you a written estimate at no cost — so you get a real number instead of a range.
