Shower Tile Questions
What tile is best for a shower?
Porcelain for floors, because it absorbs almost no water. On walls you have more freedom — ceramic, porcelain, stone or mosaic all work. For the shower floor specifically, smaller tile with more grout lines gives better grip when wet.
Do you waterproof before installing tile?
Yes, on every shower. Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own — water passes through grout. The membrane behind the tile is what keeps the wall dry, so it is never optional and never an upgrade.
How long does shower tile installation take?
Most showers take three to five working days once demolition is done: preparation, waterproofing, setting, grouting and curing. A larger shower, natural stone, or a substrate that needs rebuilding adds time. We give you the schedule with the estimate.
Can you add a custom niche or bench?
Yes. Both are built during the waterproofing stage, not added afterward, which is why they need to be decided before we start. Tell us what you keep in the shower and we will size the niche for it.
